About Us:
Sisters Together Achieving Results, Inc. (STAR) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit
organization based in Rochester, New York. STAR was incorporated in 2002
and our origin dates back to 1978. STAR is
dedicated to providing young women the necessary tools for a well-balanced life.
We nurture and enhance principles of integrity, honesty, fairness, hard work, dedication, love and respect for others.
We believe that every young woman has a unique contribution to make to the world. Given the tools to properly develop a positive perspective, young women will be empowered to overcome the various life threatening obstacles they encounter.
The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester,
Inc. is the sponsoring agency of STAR, Inc.
Competitive position and market:
Although there are a few community based programs that target at risk youth, we
do not view our organization as just another of these programs. STAR, Inc.'s mission is to educate young women in life skills utilizing
preventive strategies in order to enrich their quality of life.
Colors:
Our organizational colors are white (purity) and gold (generosity and elevation of mind).
